Wineskin

Matthew 9:17

People don’t put new wine into old wineskins.

A reconditioned wineskin is as supple as new and is able to hold new wine.  To recondition it, an old wineskin needs to be cleaned and then soaked in oil.

The wineskin is soaked until it is rejuvenated to its supple and soft state to be ready for new wine.

Made fresh again.

“Soak” in God’s presence in worship, word and in prayer and fasting,

Holy Spirit wash over us

Over and over again

Until our hearts and spirits

Are tenderised to receive

New things from God.

Take time out before the Lord.

Allow God to speak.

A reconditioned wineskin is refreshed,

Flexible and passionate

About the new things that God is doing.

My Prayer

I pray for prisoners to be set free.

Free from the boundaries their minds have placed.

Free from fear

Free from pride

Free from religion

Free from the foothold of the devil.

Oh Lord, open their eyes, remove the scales.

Oh Lord, open their hearts, to your beat, to your pain, to your pleasure.

Give them wisdom, speak your truth.

Set their lives on fire for you.

Start your revival Lord

Start with each one of us!!

Thank You Jesus

Amen.

Backpack

Matthew 28:18-20

“All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

We have been challenged, we have a job to do but we come with these huge backpacks, that are so heavy, we feel overwhelmed. God looks through the backpack, “You don’t need this, you won’t need that… My yoke is easy, my burden is light.” Matthew 11:30

Go before God and find out what he needs you to be doing, who does he need you to speak you, where does he need you to go? Be God’s hands and feet, not in our own strength but His!!

The Rope

Hold onto that rope

No matter how you feeling

No matter what you going through

Hold onto that rope

Don’t give up

Things might not make sense

We don’t have all the answers

But don’t let go of that rope

Trust in the Lord

Cling to hope through His promises

He will provide

He will speak and give direction

Trust Him Completely

He is in control, no matter what!

Psalm 31:14-15

But I trust in you, Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
My times are in your hands…

Zulu Love Letter

A Zulu Love Letter is art in the form of beadwork. The elaborate bead designs are messages meant to symbolize love and affection. Historically, the colours used in the beadwork have different meanings. e.g. blue = faithfulness. pink = promise. white = spiritual love/purity.

I felt as we came together for a city celebration, that we are each a Zulu bead. Which seems small and insignificant but when we come together, we are an amazing work of art and love. Attracting people to God and sending people for God.

We are not small and insignificant, we are part of something so much bigger, so much more than we can imagine or comprehend. Church family, God’s family!! Each using what God has given us to give Him Glory!!

Please read 1 Corinthians 12 Concerning Spiritual Gifts and Unity and Diversity in the Body.

Shift

I felt a shift at church on Sunday morning that as we realise Christ is in us and we are in Christ, we have nothing to fear, no shame to hide. I imagine a big spring clean and we have all these boxes of past hurts, sins, fears and shame that keep getting in our way and tripping us up. It’s time to throw them away, let God renew our minds. Live, walk, talk a new creation, allowing the Holy Spirit room to breathe and to help us fulfil our purpose and calling. With a revival starting in our own lives it will overflow into the church, our towns and flood the earth.

Please read Colossians 1:9…13-14; 21-29 “…For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins…To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

Colossians 2:6-15 Spiritual fullness in Christ

Colossians 3:1-17; “…For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” v18 Instruction for Christian Households.

I have not written out the whole scripture, I’d love for you to make the effort of looking it up and reading it and allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you.

Have a look at a Louie Giglio clip called Christ in you.

Broken Body

My arm has been paining me for a while, I could still do most things but I’d get sharp pains and have to readjust my arm while driving or working with the mouse on the computer. It also limited my exercise program. I decided to finally go to the doctor to try and see what was going on inside. I have a calcium deposit growing on my bone forming a sharp point, so when my muscles run up or down it hooks and with the muscles been inflamed it’s even worse. There is also a piece sitting in between my muscles. To cut a long story short I’m going for a small op but while waiting for that my arm has become so bad and so painful. Even writing this is awkward but I can’t stop, I feel I’ve got to share.

I’ve been asking God are you trying to tell me something during this time? I am not functioning properly. I have to slow down. I have to ask for help.

Is this your body, the church?

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 “Two are better than one…if either of them falls down, one can help the other up…A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

1 Corinthians 12:12-31 Unity and Diversity in the Body, please go and read it.

Botha’s Hill

The picture I got from Botha’s Hill came from the view. Beautiful hills in the distance with haze and how the colours varied but as you looked closer houses littered the hills and valleys. The sounds of people, dogs and roosters echoed in my ears.

People make things messy and noisy and that is reality but we can’t just focus on the negative and let it get us down. We’ve got to keep lifting our eyes up to the horizon to see the beauty, to see the King!

He gives us the peace, strength and wisdom we need for each new day.

Psalm 121 “I lift up my eyes to the mountains- where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth…”

War Zone Continued

I felt like from our thoughts, come our words and our actions, there should be a to be continued…

Matthew 12:33-37 “Make a tree good and it’s fruit will be good…for a tree is recognized by it’s fruit…for the mouth speaks what the heart is full of…everyone will have to give account on the day of judgement for every empty word they have spoken…”

Job 34:3-4 “For the ear tests words as the tongue tastes food. Let us discern for ourselves what is right; let us learn together what is good.”

I’ve had to leave conversations…I’ve had to send apologise for things I’ve said.

I echo scriptures from War Zone, please go and read them. The reason I haven’t given you all the scriptures is I don’t just want to be a mother bird, regurgitating the food for you. I’d like you to make the effort of picking up your bible or the bible app on your phone and looking up the scriptures and reading them for yourself and letting God’s word speak to you, so you can highlight and share accordingly.

Proverbs 26:18-28 “Like a maniac shooting flaming arrows of death is one who deceives their neighbour and says, “I was only joking!” Without wood a fire goes out; without a gossip a quarrel dies down. As charcoal to embers and as wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome person for kindling strife…

If the battle in our minds is peaceful, more and more we will have the mind of Christ as we read God’s word and pray and spend time with Him. Only good can then come out of our mouths.

Please read Psalm 19 and Psalm 119, long but well worth it. v165 “Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.”

Proverbs 27:19 “As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.”

War Zone

The sound of gun fire is constant, it doesn’t stop. You try to keep your head down and take cover. Different guns start getting used and the sound carries… Suddenly a silence and then a whoosh as a rocket gets launched with a huge explosion erupting. People are getting knocked down, families divided, friends hurt and injured.

This is an excerpt from a war zone and I believe the biggest war zone is in our heads, the battle of our minds.

Our thoughts don’t stop coming at us, “Why do I always have to do it, can’t somebody else?” Just the one thought and already an issue could start. “She didn’t say hello, I wonder why, did I do something wrong?” and so these thoughts continue…

STOP

Renew your mind (Please read Romans 12)

Don’t give the devil a foothold, (Please read Ephesians 4) I imagine the devil as a burglar, I open the door, “not knowing”, he puts his foot in the way so I can’t close the door, it’s so easy for him to come in and trash the place, take what he wants and kill me. John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life , and have it to the full.”

Don’t open that door!

Control your thoughts EVERYDAY!!

EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY

and from our thoughts come our words and our actions.

A friend shared a picture of her aged mom who bumped her leg which caused a bruise BUT it didn’t heal, it became a huge open wound. If somebody bruises us, forgive and forgive and forgive again and again, same person, over and over. Stop thoughts, stop negative words.

Please read Colossians 3 and Ephesians 4.

Please read Romans 8:5-6 “…the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.” and Romans 15:1-13 “…May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God…”

2 Corinthians 10:5 “…we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

Please read Revelation 12:9-12; 17 “…Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring – those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.”

Be careful who you hang out with, Acts 14:2, “But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up the other Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers.”

Please read Philippians 4:2; 4-9 “Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me – put it into practise. And the God of peace will be with you.

God’s peace will come and rule. Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
